How to Use Vidu Q4 Preview

Learn how to use Vidu Q4 with the controls for each mode, from preparing an input to reviewing a video.

Video generation is currently unavailable on this site.

What You Need Before Using Vidu Q4

Start at Vidu Q4 and sign in to your account. Have a picture ready for Image to Video, or a prompt and optional references for Reference to Video. Use material you own or have permission to upload, including any audio references.

This guide explains how to use Vidu Q4 once generation is available. Prepare one simple action for your first clip and choose a length that gives that action room to happen.

How to Upload a File for Vidu Q4

  1. Choose the image control. In Image to Video, use the Image upload control. In reference mode, use Reference images to add pictures one at a time. Choose files you are allowed to use; a visible face or logo does not give you permission to upload it.
  2. Select a supported file. Choose a PNG, JPG, JPEG, or WebP picture from your device. Keep each file within 100MB. For a first attempt, use a clear image with a recognizable subject and enough space around the action, rather than a crowded collage.
  3. Wait for the preview. Wait for the upload to finish and check the thumbnail before continuing. The form uses the uploaded file automatically. If an error appears, read it, check the file type and size, and try a suitable file again.
  4. Review or remove the input. Make sure you chose the intended image. Remove a wrong picture with its remove control, then choose another. For reference mode, avoid near-duplicate pictures that give no additional information and stay within the limit shown beside the input.

How to Use Vidu Q4 Preview Image to Video

  1. Select Image to Video. Choose the Image to Video tab. This mode begins with one picture and has no Aspect ratio setting. Consider the composition of your input before uploading, because a portrait image and a wide image establish different starting frames.
  2. Upload your starting image. Use Image to select a supported file and wait for its preview. Check that the main subject is clear. A still life or a simple scene is a useful first attempt because you can focus on one movement without several competing subjects.
  3. Add an optional Prompt. Describe what should change: a slow push toward the subject, gentle leaf movement, or a steady camera with one moving object. You can leave Prompt blank. When you do write it, favor a clear action over a long list of unrelated visual adjectives.
  4. Choose Resolution and Duration. Choose 540p, 720p, 1080p, 2K, or 4K, then set Duration between 3 and 16 whole seconds. The starting values are 720p and 5 seconds. A short clip helps you test an idea before spending more credits on a longer one.
  5. Review the switches and Seed. Prompt expansion and Generate audio start on. You can turn either off; they control different things. Leave Seed blank for a random seed, or enter an integer for a specific value. A matching seed alone does not guarantee identical results.
  6. Review the estimate and submit. Once generation is available, check the displayed credit estimate against your balance and select Create. Wait for the task to appear before doing anything else. Repeated clicks can create additional tasks, so inspect progress rather than immediately submitting the same idea again.

How to Use Vidu Q4 Preview Reference to Video

  1. Select Reference to Video. Choose the Reference to Video tab. This mode requires a Prompt and allows optional images and audio. A prompt without images still belongs to this mode. Decide whether your references add useful guidance before filling every available slot.
  2. Write the required Prompt. Describe the subject, action, setting, and camera view. If you add pictures, explain which subject or visual details should guide the scene. Start with a single action, such as turning toward a window, rather than several cuts or transformations in one short clip.
  3. Add optional Reference images. Upload up to 12 supported pictures. Choose views that agree on the subject and setting, and check each thumbnail. More references are not automatically better: a few clear, relevant views are easier to interpret than a collection of conflicting scenes.
  4. Add optional Reference audio. Use Reference audio when you have an audio reference you are permitted to upload. You can add up to three. Audio references do not provide a voice-cloning feature. The Generate audio switch separately controls whether the video should include generated sound.
  5. Choose Aspect ratio and video settings. Choose 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 3:4, or 4:3. Use portrait for a vertical screen or landscape for a wide composition. Select Resolution and Duration as in image mode. Reference mode does not include the Prompt expansion switch.
  6. Set Seed and review the task. Leave Seed blank or set it to 0 for random; a nonzero integer selects a specific value. Check the references, prompt, frame shape, length, and credit estimate. Once generation is available, select Create and wait for the task to appear.

How to Check a Vidu Q4 Preview Task

After submitting, use the task list beside the preview to select your task. A running task shows progress; a completed result appears in the preview. If checking progress has a connection problem, use Check again when that option appears rather than creating a duplicate task. For a simple scene to start with, browse the Vidu Q4 prompt ideas.

How to Download a Vidu Q4 Preview Video

When a completed video appears, play it and check the subject, motion, and framing before saving it. The result controls are intended to let you save a copy; the completed-result download flow is not yet available here. Keep your original inputs so you can compare later attempts.

Common Vidu Q4 Mistakes

Unsupported files

Check image type and file size before uploading. An oversized file or unsupported format needs a suitable replacement.

Missing direction

Reference mode needs a prompt. Describe a visible action and one camera direction instead of a vague request for a good video.

Too many references

Keep images within 12 and audio references within three. Remove conflicting inputs and explain which subject matters.

Insufficient credits

Compare the estimate with your balance. Review Vidu Q4 pricing when changing resolution or length.

Vidu Q4 FAQ

Follow the terms of service when choosing inputs. NSFW content is prohibited.

Do I have to upload an image?▼

Image to Video needs one picture. Reference to Video can work with a required prompt and no pictures. Pick the mode according to your starting material, rather than trying to use an empty Image input.

Why does one mode have different controls?▼

Image mode includes Prompt expansion and uses the starting image for its composition. Reference mode includes Aspect ratio and optional image and audio lists. Switching modes changes the available controls, so review them before submitting.

How do I choose a random seed?▼

Leave Seed blank in either mode. In reference mode, 0 also means random. Enter a specific integer only when you want to try that value, and keep the rest of your settings consistent when comparing attempts.

Should I save the result to my device?▼

Yes. When a completed result is available, review it and save your own copy before relying on it for a project. This site does not currently state a confirmed storage period for generated files.
